TOPIC and SPEAKERS

COME MEET THE CANDIDATES FOR SAN MATEO CITY COUNCIL

Comehear what the candidates have to say about the many issues that affect the Cityof San Mateoand especially our neighborhood, 19th Ave Park. Bring your questions.

Weencourage everyone to VOTE this November 8th, as therewill be many important issues on the ballot that will affect us on a local andstatewide level. If you have not registered to vote, please do so, and you canalso apply for an absentee ballot at the same time.

OurHomeowner’s meeting last month was truly an enjoyable time for all inattendance. We had many of our original owners share with the group, why theymoved to 19th AvePark.  Many of us there were surprised that folks moved here because theycouldn’t buy elsewhere in San Mateo or on the Peninsula. We heard residents as far back as 1972, whentime ran out for our meeting. Many others wanted to continue and so we willschedule it again some time later in the year. Thank you toall those who shared their experience with the rest of us. Everyoneenjoyed the tales of life journeys to San Mateo, which for many started elsewhere but ended in 19th AvePark.

Wewant to thank two residents’ ladies, who have big hearts, and are seen walkingthrough our neighborhood sometimes dragging a lawnmower and gardening tools. Theyhave cleaned up some of our homeowners’ lawns and cleaned and picked up debristhroughout our 19th AvePark. They also removed the ivy from the fences on Concarand Delaware. If your backyard faces on either Concar or Delaware, and you haveIvy on your fence, PLEASE remove it ASAP. Thank you! I hope they have set anexample for others to follow.  Thank you to Barbara Dye and Jeanne Burke. If you see them someafternoon, please say thank you.
