Fire Safety and Personal Safety Night!
Our guest speakers are from the San Mateo Fire Department and San Mateo Police Department.
Fire Captain Chris Cilia will make a presentation concerning the use of smoke detectors. The City has a program to give away, and install, smoke detectors, primarily to seniors, but anyone who desires to participate in their program can do so. Installing smoke detectors in your home can save your life and members of your family too. Come out and find how! Our Homeowners Association will be giving away free smoke detectors to those attending this meeting. You can’t lose!
Our Second speaker will be Detective Mike Kloss, who will make a presentation on Identity Theft. Learn how to protect your personal information. If your ID information is stolen, it can be a major headache to straighten it out. Detective Kloss will tell us how to protect our information and keep it from getting into the wrong hands. Please bring your questions.
Street Weeping and Recycling Schedule: JUNE 2005
Street Sweeping will be on Monday, June 6th and 20th and Wednesday, June 1st and 15th. The sweeper will be around between 9-11 AM, so remember to move your vehicle and avoid a ticket. Recycling by BFI will on Wednesday, June 8th and 22nd. Please recycle all your newspapers, cans, plastics, glass and cardboard. Don’t forget your garden clippings too!
Are you a member of the 19th Ave Park Homeowner’s Association?
Why do we have only 50 households out of 240 homes as members of our 19th Ave Park Homeowner’s Association? We can use your support. If you don’t have time to come to our HOA meetings at least show your support by joining and pay your dues only $12.00 per year. Please make your check payable to 19th Ave Park HOA and leave in the mailbox at 1603 Wolfe Drive or 1967 Wolfe Drive. We had a great Homeowners meeting in May, where our School Superintendent for the San Mateo Union High School District made a presentation on what parents and students can expect in the upcoming school session. Our Association board members try to invite interesting speakers to our meetings, so that we can keep our residents informed. Please make an effort to attend our June 9th meeting. This is also a good way to get acquainted with your neighbors.
Seniors can save on your property tax bill
Seniors age 65+ must reapply to be exempt from certain parcel tax. Call 650 312-7777 ext. 7936 for an application which must reach San Mateo/Foster City Elementary School District, 51 W. 41st Ave. by June 10, 2005. There are two parcel taxes $80 and $77.50 per parcel.
