1st Place-- winner was 686 Joanne Drive, the home of Gerry, Jeanie, Sophie & Rosie Cunningham
2nd Place- winner was 10 Jody Court, the home of Larry, Shannon, Kevin, Brett & Tara Tallman
3rd Place- winner was 645 Edna Way, the home of Janice, Todd & Hailey Robinson
Honorable Mention—695 Joanne Drive, the home of Fe, Ernie, E.J. & Kerwin Camantique
Please drive by and see the decorations before they are dismantled. The winners have a plaque posted on their front lawn. Our winners will be awarded their prizes at our homeowner’s meeting on January 13th.
We hope even more of our
neighbors will take part in decorating their homes for the entire neighborhood
to enjoy, next year.

STREET SWEEPING in 19th Ave Park!
Street Sweeping signs have been posted and the street sweeper will be coming down your street on the 1st and 3rd of each Monday or Wednesday of the month. Please be sure to move your vehicles before 9 AM until 11 AM, so that the street sweeper can get closer to the curb. I am sure we will see an improvement on how clean our neighborhood will look. Be a good neighbor and do your part. This will avoid your getting a traffic ticket because you did not move your car. Just as a reminder, for the month of January, the dates for Mondays are; Jan. 3rd and the 17th, and for Wednesdays Jan. 5th and the 19th.
San Mateo BFI Garbage Service
The City of San Mateo has just approved a rate increase for your garbage service. Check your BFI bill to see what they are charging you. You may only be putting out one 32-gallon can but are being charge for two. You can notify BFI immediately and have it corrected. BFI will not call and notify you of the change, so check your statement.
If you pay for BFI garbage service you have two free On-Call cleanups each year.
To arrange an On-Call Cleanup, contact BFI at 592-2411 or check out
BFI’s web site at www.bfipeninsula.com
for more information, here are some important points to remember: On-Call
cleanups must be scheduled in advance with BFI. Do not put out On-Call
materials more than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled pick-up day.
· The amount of material per cleanup is limited to 2 cubic yards per home, plus one large appliance or other large item.
· Do not include auto parts, auto batteries, tires, dirt, rocks, refrigerators, computers, televisions, animal waste, or hazardous materials such as paint or motor oil.
· Refrigerators, computers and televisions require special handling; you must call ahead of time.
·
To get rid of unwanted reusable items, consider calling a
local charity to donate the items, or contact San Mateo County Recycleworks for
more information.
Storage of garbage receptacles
All garbage receptacles, including the yard waste receptacles, recycle bins and regular garbage cans, must be stored out of view of the public. Storing any of your garbage containers in public view after your weekly pickup is a violation of the City’s Nuisance Ordinance, and is enforced by the Code Enforcement Division. Please be a good neighbor and put your containers away immediately after BFI pickup day.
