Kenmark Project:    Developers to start on street improvements

Street improvements tied to an office project on Concar Drive and Delaware Street will move ahead this spring, but the actual buildings remain on hold. Work on improvements on the sidewalk on the north side of Concar is scheduled to start on April 15, weather permitting, and should take between four to eight weeks to complete.

Grade separation work set to begin: 25th Avenue in San Mateo

Preliminary engineering work is set to begin on a long planned grade separation at 25th Ave. The grade separation, which involves raising of the tracks and lowering of the roadway to allow traffic to flow without stopping for trains, is included in San Mateo’s General Plan but has waited years for funding. Actual construction is not expected to start before 2006 at the earliest. Like grade separations proposed for 28th and 31st Avenues, the 25th Avenue Project is expected to take place as part of a major reconstruction of the Hillsdale Caltrain stations, which is in turn tied partly to the anticipated redevelopment of the Bay Meadows Racetrack.

United Homeowner’s meeting report:

Lt. Bob Ross, reported that Auto Burglaries were on a par with other cities on the peninsula. But to avoid from becoming a victim, don’t leave anything visible inside your vehicle. Another item of interest for our residents as reported by Lt. Ross, is not to have freestanding mailboxes where your mail is unprotected. Thieves can obtain your personal information by taking your incoming mail. Try installing a mail slot in either your garage or front door so your mail goes directly inside your house!
