Holiday Decorations in 19th Ave Park- Jeanne Burke, President

Start checking those holiday lights and replace burned out bulbs, because it’s time for the 19th Ave Park Beautification Committee to be looking for the homes in our neighborhood with the most colorful holiday display! Proud homeowners will be given an award sign to post on their lawn for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and will also receive a prize from the 19th Ave Park HOA. The Beautification Committee will be going around the neighborhood on December 17th, between 7:30-8:30 PM

Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

STREET SWEEPING in 19th Ave Park!

Street Sweeping signs have been posted and the street sweeper will be coming down your street on the 1st and 3rd of each Monday or Wednesday. Please be sure to move your vehicles before 9 AM until 11 AM, so that the street sweeper can get closer to the curb. I am sure we will see an improvement on how clean our neighborhood will look. Be a good neighbor and do your part. This will avoid your getting a traffic ticket because you did not move your car. Just as reminder for the month of December, the dates for Wednesdays are Dec. 1st and 15th and Mondays are Dec. 6th and 20th.

Measure P - Karen Herrel Thank you 19th Ave Park

We did it!!! A big thank you to all of you who personally, and through your friends, neighbors and neighborhood associations made the continuation of Measure H a reality. Measure P won overwhelmingly, with over 17, 000 votes and over 68% of the votes cast on this measure. This is a loud and clear message about what we want our city to be. It is also a strong endorsement for the continued effectiveness of grass roots efforts in San Mateo. And now perhaps we can return to a slightly lowered level of civic engagement (aka our "normal" lives).  Again, many thanks for rallying to the cause when we needed to protect our city's future.  Thank you for Voting Yes on Measure P on November 2!

Our last Homeowner’s meeting was great success and a good turn out of our neighbors- Marshall Loring

The Environmental Defense’s presentation on the Hetch Hetchy Dam was very well received. Frankly, I was surprised at the amount of interest in the subject of water. Ann Hayden did a good job of presenting the case for removing the dam. Her presentation was bolstered by the November 8 letter from Mike Chrisman, the Governor’s Secretary for Resources, which Ann handed out along with Executive summaries of their report. There was unanimous agreement by the audience that they would like to hear the (San Francisco Public Utilities Corp.) side of the story, as well as hearing about the upgrade project, fluoridation and chloro-amine. Look for information about this topic at a future homeowners meeting.

Dog Walkers

Here is a reminder to some of our residents in 19th Ave Park. When walking your dog, there is a leash law in San Mateo, which requires that all dogs are to be on a leash at all times! Be a good neighbor when walking your dog, and please don’t forget to pick up the dog’s mess too.

19th Ave Park Homeowner’s Membership for 2005

It is time to renew your membership in 19th Ave Park for the year 2005. 19th Ave Park HOA depends on member dues to support its functions throughout the year and 19th Ave Park dues are a bargain- still only $12 a year per household! The membership fee covers costs for printing our newsletter and incidental expenses of running the association. Members receive monthly newsletters keeping them up-to-date on important events in the neighborhood and our community. We have a general meeting at the Marriott Hotel the Second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. 19th Ave Park represents residents on important issues that come before the City Council.  Please join our neighborhood association and make your voice heard!
